After a career of some 23 years in the RAF as a police dog handler, Graham met Sue and her 5 siberians – within a few short months he was hooked on huskies and shortly after that and the arrival of Jack (Rigrunner Cumulus) Graham started working the dogs.  Before long the old competitive streak emerged and he began training in earnest.

Whilst in the RAF, Graham was a dedicated athlete on the X-Country & Road Race Circuit often training up to 100 miles per week. Moreover, he enjoyed great success in Canine Biathlons involving running and shooting and so it was a fairly easy transition to apply his Fitness and canine handling techniques to sled dog racing. Although the plan had been to gain experience slowly, a win at Thruxton by a hair’s breadth was only the start to further success.

Graham believes there are no substitutes for good nutrition, and regular coordinated training, that racing dogs are athletes and treated as such… trained to perfection with kindness!!

Graham’s personal ethos to racing is: “If you think you will be beaten…you will be!!
